Project Summary

Lionbridge is seeking self-starting freelance Over-the-Phone Interpreters to provide live interpretations for phone calls into the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS-DHS). As an Interpreter, you will be responsible for handling calls on-demand to correctly identify and provide meaning in conversations between speakers of two different languages.

What You Will Do

– Accept and take ownership of on-demand incoming calls and conversations, providing two-way interpretations.

– Identify the meaning of conversations across two different language types while remaining current, courteous, and professional.

– Receive training in industry terminology and apply this knowledge in your role while on calls.

To Be Successful You Will Have

– Advanced abilities in Spanish and English (spoken).

– Exceptional memory retention, note-taking, and communication skills.

– Prior experience in Interpretation or Language Services is a plus.

Requirements for DHS Project Consideration

– U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Green Card required.

– Willingness to complete a government background and fingerprint check.

– Willingness to complete DHS required paperwork and Electronic Questionnaire for Investigations Processing.
