Job Description

At Battle Road, we’re applying state-of-the-art innovations and experience from the video game industry to build the future of simulations, modeling, and operations. AtomEngine, our flagship platform, powers immersive wargaming and decision support for real-world scenarios. As we expand AtomEngine’s use cases, we need a UX expert who can design seamless experiences for planners, operators, and analysts – providing them clarity and control.

Position Summary

We’re looking for a Senior UX Designer to lead the user experience vision for AtomEngine. You’ll be responsible for understanding our diverse user personas, mapping their goals and workflows, and creating intuitive interfaces that help them achieve their objectives.

Key Responsibilities

– Lead UX design for the AtomEngine application and supporting toolsets.
– Define and document user personas and their goals, workflows, and pain points.
– Develop end-to-end user journeys that guide different personas through complex workflows.
– Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate design intent.

Required Qualifications

– 5+ years of experience designing UX for complex software tools or creative applications.
– Demonstrated aptitude for pairing strong visual design sensibility with systems thinking and technical empathy.
– Proven ability to understand user needs and translate them into clean, actionable UX designs.

Preferred Qualifications

– Located in the Washington D.C. or Orlando, FL area.
– Experience working with simulation, modeling, defense, or game-based technologies.
– Active or previously held security clearance is a plus.

Physical Work Requirements

– You can sit, operate a computer, and a phone for extended periods.
– Work is primarily performed indoors.
